Io Sono

This page will be hard for me to write.  To start with I am an Italian immigrant woman who has lived all her life in America except for my first three years.  All my growing and learning years, I became an American.  But the older I have become, I am reverting back to my Italian heritage.  All I want is everything Italian around me,  my grandchildren to have Italian names.  Only listening to old Italian music.  I feel conflicted.  I am very greatful for coming to America and having the chance to do what I want with my life.    I have three wonderful daughters, and twelve grandchildren.   My grandchildren are my life, I have to name them for they are so special to me.  I will go oldest to youngest.  Gabriella, Michael, Cosette, Joseph, Olivia, Anika, Ariella, Steven, Sofia, Christian, Jonathan, and baby Maria. I also have six stepgrandchildren that I love.  My life revolved around my family, but I am going to change. I am going to start writing.  I will never be as good as HEEllis.  But I have my own style and will probibly write only short stories.

  1. There is no such thing as any one writer being as good or better than another writer. Writing, like art, is a tangible representation of your soul, and nothing about who you are is bad. Combine your soul with your life’s journey and you have your voice. It may not sound like everyone else, but that’s what makes it unique. In the world of writing, unique equals good.

Your perspective as a woman whose life’s journey is American but whose soul is Italian makes what you write compelling to read, and I for one am very interested in reading what it is you have to say.

    Non smettere!

I also cannot argue with H.E. on that, either.

  3. I want to thank HEEllis for her confidence in my writing. I promise to do the best I can. I also want to thank Tom Elias for the great compliment. Both your comments has given me more desire to finish my story.

  4. Oh my goodness- you are H.E.Ellis’ Mama?

P.S. I have a small sized crush on your daughter.

    • Thank you for writing on my blog. Yes my daughter is awesome. I hope you like her books. I like your blog name GingerSnaap. It is cute. HEEllis always groans at me for finding everthing cute.

  6. Hello, Elvis! I hope you like that, because that’s your nickname from now on. I’m the resident moron around here, and Hellis is my blog wife. I am the second greatest blogger in the universe, assuming everyone else is tied for first!

Soon, you will run across one of my blog posts that has a title in Italian. I hope you like it! Welcome to the blogosphere! Also, HR was your son-in-law! Ha ha!

  7. Aw…it’s like we really are married.
